2022 Rosé

2022 Rosé

from A$28.00

Currants, strawberries and glazed plums introduce a palate of soft red fruit textures and pristine tannin and acidity. The finish is persistent and refreshing, boasting tones of pink lady apples and subtle cinnamon hints.

WINEMAKING: The Shiraz fruit is crushed and cold-pressed immediately in order to extract only the slightest colour and only the purest fragrances and textures from the skins. The juice is cold settled prior to fermentation at low temperatures. Our aim is to preserve freshness and capture aromatics, while developing texture and complexity with fortnightly battonage. Ageing on lees was followed by blending to stainless steel for bottling.

Halliday Wine Companion 2024

“Talented winemakers Bruce Dukes and Remi Guise help to create this wine. That's quite a lot of firepower in Coughlan Estate's corner. This is an easy-drinking, crisp and clean rosé. It's strawberries and cream but crunchier than that, though there are strong elements of sweet fruit and vanillin character. It has decent length, a sense of purity and energy, evenness, flow and freshness. It feels well made, is the message. A good expression here.”

The Real Review:

Shrill fuchsia-pink colour, with a bright purple—almost blue—tint; the aroma is equally bright and intense, scented with the aroma of blackcurrant boiled lollies. The wine is likewise bright and energetic in the mouth, with a certain stridency, but there's no denying its intensity of fruit, or quality of winemaking. Very good rosé of its style.”
