Our History

We have a long line of history which demonstrates our vast knowledge of the wine industry.

Preeti and Brad Coughlan are the people behind the place, and the wine.

Unbeknown to them, in the mid-2000s they lived three streets away from one another in London. It wasn’t until her medical career kicked off and the FIFO boom brought them to the West coast of Australia, that their paths crossed.

They spent their weekends exploring wineries in the South West and Geographe area. One weekend, accompanied by their first of many puppies, they ended up at Barton Jones Wines. They loved the view, enjoyed the wine, and that first visit sealed their fate.

Eight years later they purchased the vineyard and Cellar Door and started their own wine venture.

Growing up in a house of family and food, Preeti’s culinary curiosity was sealed at a young age. When she isn’t managing the business, being President of the Geographe Wine Association and still running her medical consultancy - Preeti can be found in the kitchen at the Cellar Door making much of the iconic locally sourced menu.

Brad, the behind the scenes man, is a quiet and detail-driven caretaker. No longer serving in the mines, he now spends his days pottering around the vineyard perimeter in his tractor, tending to the rows of fruit and listening to his radio.
